Birth

Samuel Jacques was born in 1803 in Melbourne, Derbyshire and was christened there on 23 October 1803, the son of Joseph Jacques and Mary (Brooks) Jacques[1]

Marriage-1

Samuel Jacques married Sarah Watson on 13 December 1825 at Breedon on the Hill, Leicestershire; Samuel was recorded as residing in Melbourne, Derbyshire and Sarah in Staunton, Breedon, Leicestershire[2]. Banns were read in both Melbourne[3] and Breedon on the Hill[4]

Following the death of his wife Sarah, Samuel Jacques re-married to Selina Watson on 13 October 1835 at St. Peter’s Church, Derby, Derbyshire[7]. Selina was also born Staunton Harold, Breedon on the Hill, Leicestershire and was possibly related to Sarah - maybe her sister.
