Biography

Marvin Henry Jahn died Dec. 2, 1958 at St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota, United States. Funeral services where held from the First English Lutheran Church, Marshall, Lyon, Minnesota, United States, Rev. Merland T. Johnson officiating, Soloist for the service was Lincoln Olson, accompanied by Mrs. M. T. Johnson. Burial was in the Marshall cemetery, Marshall, Lyon, Minnesota, United States. Pallbearers included brother-in-law Erwin DeAustin, Otto Stern, Ervin Schenk, Julius Schenk, Lester Fredrick, and Jake Glanzer. The Troop Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jahn was born at Horton Township, Osceola, Iowa, United States Jan. 17, 1914, the oldest of three children born to Walter and Frieda Mueller Jahn. He was baptized in the Christian faith and later confirmed in the Zion Lutheran church, Horton Township, Osceola, Iowa, United States community. As a young man he began working on farms. After moving to Brown county, Minnesota, United States near Springfield, he married Gertrude Schenk, Dec. 17, 1936 at Springfield, Brown, Minnesota, United States. To this union were born four children. During the 22 years of his married life he was employed as a driver for trucking companies. His last job was with Glendenning Trucking company. He was a member of Local 909 Brotherhood of Teamsters of Worthington.

He was also a member of the First English Lutheran church, Marshall, Lyon, Minnesota, United States.

He is survived by his wife Gertrude, a daughter, Barbara, and three sons, Donald Marvin, Gary Julius, and (Living), all at home. Also surviving is his sister, Mrs. Norma Glanzer, Sanborn, Redwood, Minnesota, United States, and his brother Gilbert of Eugene, Lane, Oregon, United States.
