Thomas Edward James was born 20 February 1836 Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia[1]and was christened on 21 October 1854[2], the son of William James and Esther Beckett
He married Mary Horton in 1857 Yass, New South Wales, Australia[3] and their children were Esther JAMES, Eliza JAMES, Emily Jane JAMES, Thomas JAMES, John J W JAMES, Esther JAMES, James Alfred JAMES and Alfred F JAMES.
Thomas died on on 6 November 1876 at Yass, New South Wales, Australia[4] and was buried on 9 November 1876 in the Cemetery, Yass, New South Wales, Australia.

Retrieved October 2, 2016,: BOURKE:] An inquest was held at the North Yass Hotel (reports the Southern Argus, on the body of Thomas James, an alderman. The deceased had been out to M'Grath's Telegraph Inn, about three miles from Yass On returning in the afternoon, he was galloping, when he fell off the horse he was riding on to the road, and received a fracture of the base of the skull. A verdict was returned that deceased died from a fracture of the skull caused by a fall from a horse.
