Jane Margaret James was born 13 February 1857 in Bridgewater, Oneida, New York. She was the daughter of William James and Mary Francis. [1][2] Jane was raised in Bridgewater, where her family farmed [3][4][5] until 1872 when she married Jone-62480|David Hugh Jones of Bala, North Wales in Bridgewater.[1][2] The couple first settled in Bridgewater [6] then in 1876 relocated to Lincoln, Montgomery, Iowa along with Margaret's siblings and her mother. [7]
David and Jennie and their children relocated to Carroll Nebraska likely about the same time as her brother WIlliam Morris James and his family. They were living there when David died 8 April 1894 and Jennie, 10 December 1896. Both are buried in the Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery in Carroll. [8]
