John James, the son of John James and Dinah Allen was born about 1756 in Fauquier (exact date is not known).

He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Wright, daughter of James Wright on 28 June 1785 in Fauquier County, Virginia. She died 28 Feb 1828 (aged 66) in Fauquier County, Virginia, United States and was buried at Kelly-James Cemetery in Bealeton, Fauquier County, Virginia, United States.
