Biography

In the James pedigree in Miscellanea Genealogica et Heraldica^[1] presumably developed from the James pedigrees in the Visitations of Surrey^[2], Kent^[3] and Essex^[4], John James was noted as the sixth surviving son of Roger James van Haestricht and Sarah Morskyn.

John James was a beneficiary of the will of his father Roger James, Brewer of All Saints Barking London [All Hallows by the Tower, City of London], the will made on 19 Jun 1589, signed and sealed on 20 Apr 1590, and proved on 13 Mar 1591/1592.^[5] and his mother Sara James her will made on 06 Mar 1597/1598 and proved on 25 Oct 1598.^[6]

He married Susanna the daughter of Peter Venderwall of Antwerp on 24 Aug 1601 at Ightham, Kent.^[1] Their children as recorded in the Visitation of Kent were Henry (b abt 1605), Thomas (b abt 1611), William (b abt 1615), John (b abt 1618) and Susanna.

John James was buried at Ightham, Kent, on 15 Sep 1628.^[1]
