Biography

Thomas William Franklin James, the son of Lawrence James and Sarah Williams, was born 11 November 1893 in Paris, Lamar, Texas and he passed away 10 April 1968 aged 75 in Cody, Park County, Wyoming.[1]

In the 1900 Federal Census of Fraught Spring Hill & Faulkner Districts, Lamar County, Texas, the family is shows as follows:

  • Lawrence James, Widowed, age 40 born April 1860 in Arkansas,
  • Minnie P. age 13 born July 1886 in Texas,
  • Bertha E. age 12 born April 1888 in Texas,
  • Jessie H. age eight born April 1892 in Texas,
  • Thomas W.F. age six born November 1893 in the Indian Territory,
  • Mary L. age five born April 1895 in the Indian Territory, and
  • Charles M. age three born December 1896 in the Indian Territory.[2]

The 1910 U.S. Federal Census, Muncrief, McClain County, Oklahoma, lists the family as L.C. James, Widowed, age 50, Bertha age 21, Jessie age 18, Thomas W. age 17, Mary L. age 15 and Charles age 14. A servant, Eathen Owens age 23 from Texas also resides in the household.[3]

Frank Williams James' WWII Draft Registration Card shows the following information:

  • Name, Frank William James age 48
  • Residence, Cody, Park County, Wyoming
  • Date of Birth, November 11, 1893 at Paris, Lamar County, Texas
  • Dated April 27, 1942[4]

Ethel F. Strayer and Frank William James were married 17 December 1946 in Salt Lake, Utah.[5]

In the 1950 U.S. Federal Census, Cody City, Park County, Wyoming, the family is Frank W. James, manager of grocery store, age 56 years old from Texas and his wife Ethel S. age 34 from Nebraska. Their children are Ethel T. born in June and Frank E. born in May.[6]
