Joseph James was born in Gloucestershire, England.

Joseph was born during Jan-Feb-Mar 1864 in the Registration district of Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales.[1]

Joseph arrived in New Zealand on the Hereford with his family in 1878


Joseph and Elizabeth were married on the 3rd April 1889 at St John the Baptist (Anglican) Church, High Street, Rangiora. [2] The witnesses were Harriet Emily James, (Joseph's sister), and William Hodgson (Elizabeth's brother). [3]


He passed away in 1910 aged 46Y.[4]
