Biography

James was born in 1799 at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England. He was the son of Joseph James and Elizabeth Willington.

James was baptized in 1799 at St. Peters, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.

James married Anne (Nancy) Crutchley 8 Apr 1845 at St. Peters Church, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.

In 1859 James and Anne Emigrated to Australia with their 4 (four), children, Joseph, Samuel, James, and Sarah as assisted immigrants. The family arrived in Port Jackson, Sydney on 6 Jan 1860 on the ship "Alfred".

James and Anne had 7 (seven), children, Joseph, Caroline (1850- 1851), Michael (1852- 1856), Sarah Ann, Samuel Leonard, James, and Isabella.

James passed away in 1881 at Mohawk, near Nimmibatel, registered as Bombala, New South Wales, Australia. [1]

He is interred at Nimmitabel Cemetery, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, New South Wales, Australia.

James was the owner of the Castle Inn, Wolverhampton, UK.
