Biography

William James is the son of Thomas James (born in Beckwith) and Eliza Ralph (born in Ireland).

He had a brother John James (of Goulbourn) and sister Mrs. J. Bennett (of Hazeldean).

He was married to Ellen Kyle. She passed away in 1893.

His second wife was Susannah Findlay. : Wife Susannah he had four children. They had Dr. R.T. James of New Westminster, B.C., Dr. I.W. James of Carleton Place, Dr. C.N. James of Midland, and Miss Ida James R.N. of Ottawa.

Susannah passed away in 1912.

His third marriage was to Margaret Alderson. With Margaret, William had a daughter Eileen.

He moved to Huntley Township in 1890. He farmed on the 4th line until he was about 52.

He built a home in Carp and lived there from the time he retired until the time of his passing.

Was in his 60th year when he passed away.
