John Thornhill James-Wallace was born before 1860 at Killarney, Co Kerry, Ireland. He was a son of William James-Wallace and Ann Hawkins.
He married Amalie Bernard before 1882.
He and Amalie migrated to Queensland, Australia, in search of the advertised improved climate and cheap farmland. They settled at Wynnum, by Moreton Bay to the south-east of Brisbane. They named their home Athlone. A brother also migrated.
He passed away in 1901 at Wynnum, Queensland.[1]
