Biography

Joseph Cornelius Jameson was born on June 14, 1886,[1] to Knute Jameson and Margaret (Hagen) Jameson of Blooming Grove Township, Waseca County, Minnesota.[2]

On June 12, 1895, Joseph was eight years old and living with his parents, his four younger siblings and his widowed paternal grandmother Christine Jameson (79) on the family farm in Waseca County, Minnesota.[3]

On June 16, 1900, Joseph was 14 years old and living with his parents, his five younger siblings and his grandmother Christine Jameson (83) on the family farm in Blooming Grove Township.[4]

Joseph's confirmation was June 9, 1901, in the North Waseca Lutheran Church in Waseca County, Minnesota.[5]

On May 3, 1910, Joseph was 23 years old and head of the family farm in Blooming Grove Township, where he was living with his parents and his six younger siblings.[6]

Joseph married Lydia Mary Broughton on November 25, 1914, in Waterville, Le Sueur County, Minnesota.[7]

When he registered for the military draft during World War I on June 5, 1917, Joseph stated that he was 30 years old, that his birthdate was June 14, 1886, and that he was a married farmer living in Blooming Grove Township, Waseca County, Minnesota.[8]

On January 14, 1920, Joseph (33) and Lydia (28) were living on a farm they owned with a mortgage in Blooming Grove Township.[9]

On April 12, 1930, Joseph (43) and Lydia (38) were living on the farm they were now renting in Blooming Grove Township.[10]

On April 2, 1940, Joseph (53) and Lydia (48) were living on the farm they were renting for $10 per month in Blooming Grove Township, where Joseph listed his occupation as a garage mechanic.[11] Joseph stated at the time that they had also lived in the same place in 1935 and that he had a fourth grade education.[11]

Joseph passed away on May 21, 1969,[1] in Blooming Grove Township.[2] He and Lydia are buried in the North Waseca Lutheran Church Cemetery, Waseca County, Minnesota, USA.[2]
