Biography

Robert was the son of Alexander Jamison[1] Robert was a co-executor of his father's 1747 Will.[2] He was therefore at least 21 in 1747, i.e. born before 1727, estimate birth as 1725.

Robert married Mary Vastine before 1760.[1] Three of their children appear to be named after Mary's parents, Abraham Vastine and Sarah:

Also thought to be their children:[5]

Robert is in the Personal Property Tax records for Shenandoah County, Virginia from 1782 to 1788. With Robert, in 1787 there are 2 white males age 16-21, and in 1788 1 male 16-21. (Not asked in 1782-1786.) [7]

In 1800 Robert is in the tax record for Hardy County, Virginia.[8] (now West Virginia). Note Hardy County is just west of Shenandoah County. They share about a 30 mike border. Also in Hardy in 1800, are many Wilsons including James Wilson,[9] thought to be the husband of Robert's daughter Hannah.

Robert passed away in 1800 in Hardy Co, Virginia,[10] now West Virginia.

Research Notes

Martha Rickey is not the mother of Robert. Martha did not marry his father Alexander, until September, 1727, after Robert was born.
