Biography

Carrie was born in 1896 in Braxton County, West Virginia, the daughter of George H. Jamison and Emily Annette "Nettie" Wildman. She married Frank Clymer Rowe in 1917 in Braxton County. They lived at first next to her parents in Salt Lick, WV where her husband worked as a coal miner and they had the first of six children they would have together. By 1930, they had moved to Mt. Clare in Harrison County, WV, where Frank was out of work. By 1940, they were still in the Grant area of Harrison County, but now living in public housing and her son was supporting them through work on a WPA project. Her husband Frank died in 1965. Carrie passed away in 1982 in Bowie, Maryland.
