Biography

Emily Maude Janney was born on 26 January 1879 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Warder H Janney and Laura V. Grace. [1]

In 1880 she was living in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her parents, two siblings and aunt. Her father worked as a Pay Master. [2]

In 1900 she was 21 years old and living with her family in Collingdale Sharon Hill boroughs, Delaware, Pennsylvania. Her father was working as a Railroad Superintendant, her brother Frank was an Assistant Superintendent and her brother Oscar was a Railroad Timekeeper. [3]

She married Brenton N Newcomb on 28 Sep 1909 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. At the time of their marriage, Brenton was a widowed merchant. [4]

In 1910 Brenton and Maud were living in Darby Ward 2, Delaware, Pennsylvania. [5]

Brenton died in 1912. In 1917 she married Libren C Grace in New Jersey. [6]

In 1920 she and Libren were living in Cape May, New Jersey. [7]

In 1930 the couple was living in Middle, Cape May, New Jersey. [8]

In 1935 she was living in Goshen, Cape May, New Jersey. [9]

In 1940 she was widowed and living in Millville, Cumberland, New Jersey. [9]

In July 1962 her name was listed as Emily Maud Grace on her Social Security record. [1]

She was a member of the Central Baptist Church and Crescent Council 61, Daughters of America. [10]

She died on 9 Oct 1964 after a lengthy illness. At the time of her death she was a resident of Arlene Village and had no immediate survivors. [10]
