Biography

Fytje was born 23 Sep 1733[1] and baptized 22 Oct 1733; records state Fytje's father was Jan Janssen, and her mother was Eitje. Sponsors were Matthys van Loon and Marytje Van_Schuayk-1 w. of Lawrenz Wormer. Church records indicate that Jochim/Jochem and Ydje/Eidje Janssen sponsored the baptisms of several of Fytje's children. "Jochem/Jochim" may be variations on "Jehoiachim" and "Ydje/Eidje" could be variations on "Eytje" or "Eitje". It appears Fytje was the oldest of eight (8) children all of whom were baptized in the Zion Lutheran Church of Loonenburg. Her siblings were:
- Marytje, b. 19 Jan 1735
- Coenraad, bp. 26 Aug 1739 (twin of Lena)
- Lena, bp. 26 Aug 1739 (twin of Coenraad)
- Lena, b. 3 Mar 1741
- Petrus, b. 23 Jun 1742
- Eytje, b. 18 Aug 1744
- Rulof, b. 27 Sep 1747
Beers[2] states that Fytje was the daughter of Jehoiachim Jansen and she married Casper Jans Hallenbeck (Halenbeck-88). Casper inherited half of Jehoiachim's 115 acre farm (part of the former Loonenburg Patent) which he in turn gave to his oldest son, Jehoiachim. The younger Jehoiachim Hallenbeck (Hallenbeck-519) devised this land to his son John (Hallenbeck-556).
Fytje married 19 Oct 1754, Spouse, Casper Hallenbeek[3][4]
She died after 1798 as she is mentioned (Fytche) in her husband's will probated 4 Oct 1798.[5]
