COOKEVILLE — Funeral services for Charles Thomas Jared, 84, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Browns Mill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 3, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Jared passed away on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 15, 1929, in Putnam County to the late Henry Mason and Belle (MacBroom) Jared.

Mr. Jared worked in agriculture, farming and for the Union Stockyard in Nashville. He was of the Baptist faith.

His family includes a host of nieces and nephews, and brothers-in-law Jim and John Graham.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Louise Jared, and his brothers and sisters, Bertha Wade, MaNell Jared, Estelle Allen Bessie Patton, Albert Jared, Bonnie Brown, Kenneth Jared, Bill Jared, Elizabeth Owens and Fern Vaughn.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Elder Kurt Settles will officiate at the services
