Agnes Rider Jarvis was born in 1826.[1] She was baptized in Salcombe, Devon on July 30, 1826.[2] Agnes was the daughter of William Jarvis and Peggy Rider. She moved to Prince Edward Island in 1845.[3]
On Dec 3, 1846, Agnes married her cousin Joseph Prowse. Agnes's mother Peggy was the sister of Joseph's mother Agnes (Rider) Prowse.[4] Joseph and Agnes were married by a Baptist minister named Silas Rand, after whom one of their children was named.
Agnes and Joseph had 13 children, two of whom died in childhood. They raised their family on a farm in Lot 33 (Brackley, PEI). Following Joseph's death, Agnes lived with her youngest son, Phillip.[3]. She was living in Charlottetown at the time of her death at the age of 81, on June 6, 1907.[5] She was buried in the Sherwood Cemetery.[6]

↑ 1901 census says July 12, 1827, but this is incorrect, as she was baptized on July 30, 1826. Perhaps it was July 12, 1826?
