Pauline and William divorced 25 November 1958, Buncombe County, North Carolina, North Carolina.[1] William married Mary B Adams on 9 December 1959 in North Carolina. William lived in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and Mary lived in Elisabethton, Tennessee. He was 38, she was 32.[2]
William Reeves Jarvis, a decorated 20-year veteran, was lost in the Flying Tiger flight 739 disaster.
March 15, 1962, three years before American combat troops were sent to Vietnam, 104 people lost their lives when a charter flight operated by Flying Tiger Line on behalf of the Military Air Transport Service was lost in the Pacific Ocean while en route to Saigon, Vietnam, on a secret mission. No wreckage or remains were ever found.
