Elizabeth Jarvis was born on 28 Jul 1795, and christened on 23 Aug 1795 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary Jarvis. Her father was a watchmaker of Prescot.

Elizabeth married Thomas Lyon on 1 Mar 1813 at St Peter's Church in Liverpool, Lancashire. Both were of Liverpool; Thomas was a bricklayer, Elizabeth a spinster. The witnesses were Michael John Hill and William Dutton.

Their son Thomas was christened on 30 Nov 1817 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was recorded as bricklayer, and the family's address as Huyton.

Their son William was christened on 11 Mar 1821 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was recorded as bricklayer, and the family's address as Huyton.

Their daughter Margaret was christened on 13 Jun 1823 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as bricklayer, and the family's address as Prescot.

On the night of June 6th 1841, Elizabeth was in Hackley Moss, Eccleston with their children William and Margaret. William was an apprentice watchmaker. Elizabeth's husband wasn't with them on the night of the census.

By March 30th 1851, Thomas and Elizabeth were living in Eccleston; Thomas was a bricklayer. Their household also included two young lodgers, John Twist (aged 11) and Richard Twist (8).

By April 7th 1861, Thomas and Elizabeth were living in The Moss, Eccleston; Thomas was a brick setter.
