Hello! I have been doing genealogy haphazardly for 35 years, but more regularly for the past 10 years. This year I decided to devote most of my free time to my "Year of Genealogy," which means I try to do a bit every day, join societies like the Ontario Genealogy Society, and the Halton-Peel OGS, and join as many websites as possible to further my research.
I have been blessed that two of my brothers have done their DNA tests for me, as well as my mother, and two of my maternal uncles. I have had success connecting my cousins through DNA and verifying them through documents and online family trees, and that includes a recent cousin who is connected to my maternal grandfather who was adopted. Yay!!!
I have a presence on GEDmatch, Ancestry, MyHeritage, LivingDNA and FamilyTreeDNA. Whew. Somehow I need this Wikitree to pull my research all together! Thanks Mags Gaulden for your presentation at the OGS conference for inspiring me.
