Biography

Harriet Javens was born Sloothby, Lincolnshire, England, about 1846, the daughter of Charles Javens and Maria Holland.

Emigration to Australia. In 1850, she was four years old when the Javens family emigrated to the British Colony of New South Wales, Australia, aboard the Lord Stanley, arriving 26th August, 1850 at Port Jackson. They belonged to the Church of England, and, all except the youngest, Harriett, could read. They arrived in good health. [1] [2]

Marriage. In 1861, she married John Kable, their marriage registered in the Bathurst district, New South Wales. [3]

Harriet Kable passed away 16th December, 1914. Her death was registered Orange, New South Wales, with the forenames of her parents indexed as Charles and Maria. [4]

DEATH OF MRS. KABLE.
There passed away on Wednesday night an old resident of the Orange district in the person of Mrs. Kable, aged 69 years. Her husband died 16 years ago. A grown-up family survive her. Mr. Arthur Kable, of Gular, is a son of deceased. [5]

Funeral Notice.
THE friends of the late Mrs. Kable are respectfully invited to attend her funeral, to leave Mr. R. Ford's residence, Anson-street, at 2.15 p.m. today, for the Church of England Cemetery.

Burial. At the Orange Cemetery, her remains were interred in her father's grave. Two of her children are also there. Their headstone [7]reads:-
