Great Grandpa Albert Jay entered the Pennsylvania railroad service in Fort Wayne, IN on November 16, 1889 working nights. He was a foreman car inspector from July 1, 1895 to May 1, 1907. He worked in Valparaiso, IN on the railroad from May 1, 1907 until December 1, 1910. Then went to North side Pittsburg, PA from Dec 1, 1910 to March 1, 1913. He was then foreman of freight repairs at Conway yards, west of Baden, PA from May 1, 1913 until he retired on Nov. 1, 1931.
