Biography

According to an unsourced Ancestry.com record which is provided by a family member in possession of print records, Jesse Jay was born 8 December 1773 in Newberry District, South Carolina, American Colonies, and died 25 September 1840 in Miami County, Ohio, United States. These dates are probably derived from the excellent records kept by the Quakers of that time period. (Written documentation is being obtained. Oesting-1 08:52, 17 December 2015 (EST))

Jesse and Sarah Jay moved to Miami County, Ohio, sometime around 1800.

Children's Marriage Records

Denny Jay, son of Jesse and Sally Jay, married Mary Jones, daughter of Elisha and Susanna Jones. Their wedding was recorded on 26 Nov 1829 at the West Branch Quaker Monthly Meeting, West Milton, Miami, Ohio.[1]

Isaac Jenkins, son of David and Martha Jenkins, married Mary Jay, daughter of Jesse and Sarah Jay. Their wedding was recorded on 27 Aug 1823 at the Mill Creek Monthly Quaker Meeting, Miami, Ohio.[2]
