Parents

Jonathan married Ann Jones, daughter of Elisha Jones and Susanna Hollingsworth, on 29 Sep 1813 in Union Township, Miami County, Ohio. Ann died on 9 Jan 1849 at age 37, leaving him a widower. James was the second child and first son.

Birth

James' birth to Jonathan and Ann Jay was recorded in the Mill Creek Monthly Quaker Meeting in Miami, Ohio as taking place on 25 Apr 1836.[1]

Marriage

James Jay married Esther M. Evans, daughter of Moses Evans, on 15 Mar 1866 in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States.[2]
