Sources

SC Marriage Records have him marrying a Margaret Jay in 1778 in South Carolina. No further details have been found beyond her name appearing on William's Find-A-Grave record. It is difficult to tell if Jay was her maiden name as well as her married name. Usually marriage records list by maiden name, but the one found had her name as Margaret Jay.
