George was the husband of Mary Ann (Burleigh) Wisener/Wisner. To this union was born at least one son, George Jr. It's possible they had additional children but I can't find records on names or DOB's?
George Jr was born in Shippensburg, Cumberland, Pennsylvania but when he was just 3 years old the elder George moved his family to Ohio where they remained until they migrated West in 1835. They landed in New Boston, Mercer County, which at that time was called the Upper Yellow Banks. Illinois land records show that on July 8, 1835 George Jay purchased the E2NW and W2NW Section 7 in Township 13 North Range 4 West (future Abington Township, in Keithsburg). Then George Jay Jr purchased the W2SW of Section 6 on April 5, 1836.
George Sr set up his homestead in Abington Township, Keithsburg, IL. In the 1840 census George SR is listed living in Township 13 North Range 4 West: 1 male 60-70, 1 female 10-15, and 1 female 60-70. After George SR's death in 1846, George JR took over the homestead where he and his wife Nancy had and raised all of their children.
George SR and several of his family members are all buried in the New Boston cemetery.
