DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Hi Tanya,

As far as I am aware there were a number of John Jeeves in the Hitchen area. It can be quite difficult to differentiate between them. If you can find the exact place the family lived (eg Many of mine were from the villages of Preston, St. Ippollitts etc plus from the actual town itself - confusingly they are often all listed as from Hitchen) then it is easier to trace the family through the generations. As you will have noted the same forenames are common there can be upto 4/5 cousins with the same name and similar birth dates. I will check my John Jeeves info out and let you know asap

I have an ancestor https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Jeeves-165 Martha Jeeves, daughter of John Jeeves and Martha (likely Field) b. Hitchen in 1808, wonder if there were two John Jeeves in Hitchen at this time or if this could be a second wife of this John Jeeves. Are you sure Mary lived until 1853?
