Gatha Hatfield Age 82, formerly of Itmann,WV, died Thursday, June 17, 1999 in Franciscan Center, Hockessin, DE.

Mrs. Hatfield was born September 26, 1916 in Oneida, TN to the late Knox and Ida Belle Smith Jeffers. She was a resident of Itmann for 39 years before moving to DE in 1995 and into the care center in 1997. She was a member of the Highlawn Baptist Church of Mullens and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband John "Scott" Hatfield in 1997 and sister, Midge May. Survivors include 2 daughters, Gatha Faye and husband Steve Meadows of Hockessin, DE and Brenda Gale and husband Leon Ellis of Proctorville, OH; 1 son, John Kenneth Hatfield of Alta Loma, CA; 1 sister, Hester Blackburn of Feds Creek, KY; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 pm Sunday at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with the Rev. Phil Smith and the Rev. Jack Tankersley officiating. Friends may call 6-8 pm Saturday. Burial will follow at 5 pm at the Rome-Proctorville Cemetery in Proctorville, OH.
