Montville was born on December 11, 1891 at Oneida in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of William Jeffers and Emily Duncan. He married Gertrude Chambers on April 30, 1922 in Scott County.[1]
He passed away from arteriosclerosis heart disease and congestive heart failure on July 5, 1959 at Fort Sander's Hospital in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee.[2]
