Biography

Anna was born on December 6, 1921 at Huntsville in Scott County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of James Jeffers and Sylvania Cross. She passed away on Thursday, July 23, 1992 at the Scott County, Hospital in Oneida, Scott County.

Obituary,

Anna Mae Jeffers, 70, of the Scott County Nursing Home, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 23, 1992, at the Scott County Hospital. She was born in Huntsville, Tenn., on December 6, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Dillard Jeffers and the late Sylvia Cross Jeffers. She also was preceded in death by her stepmother, Flona Jeffers; a brother, Carl Jeffers; a niece, Dianna Gail Williams; and a brother-in-law, Herman Franklin Russell. She was baptized on November 29, 1934, and was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Reba Russell, Huntsville, and Cassie Williams and husband Bud, of Oneida; a niece, Betty Cheathan and husband, Claude, of West Carrollton, Ohio; a nephew, Lonnie Russell and wife Kathy, Huntsville; one great nephew, three great nieces and several other relatives. Funeral services for Anna Mae Jeffers were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 1992, at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Smithers and Rev. Robert Williams officiating. Irene Chitwood and Imogene King sang. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen Curtis Jeffers, Thermon Jeffers, Ted Williams, Chuck Terry and Odell Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Estil Jeffers, Herman Jeffers, Ervin Jeffers, Sherman Jeffers, Dillsome Williams, Ancil Hutson and Charles P. Jeffers.
