Biography

Stephen Jeffers (age 36 and b. in TN) was head of a household in the 1850 census for Scott Co., TN. He was living with eight individuals named Jeffers: Elizabeth (age 41), Nancy (age 18), Parnita (age 14), Champion (age 12), William (age 10), Oliver (age 8), Florina (age 6) and Eliza (age 3). Also included in the home were children named Elizabeth Lowdes (age 14), William Smither (age 13), Jonathan Lowdes (age 12), John Smither (age 10), Nancy Smither (age 8), Jane Smither (age 6) Ephraim Smither (age 4), Maryan Smither (age 2) and Jessee Lowdes (age 16). All members of the household were b. in TN. Stephan Jeffers was a farmer.
