Born: Benjamin was born in 1789 ^[1] at Bulman Hill, Sebergham, Cumberland, England to Robert Jefferson and Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Simpson) Jefferson.

Immigration: Benjamin and his family sailed on the Lady Nugent on 10 October out of Gravesend and arrived in Port Nicholson on 17th March 1841. ^[2]
