Biography

Thomas Jefferson Jr. was born approximately 1782 in Albemarle County, Virginia. He was married three times, but had no known surviving children:

  • Mary Randolph "Polly" Lewis (marriage bond Oct. 3, 1808, Albemarle Co., Virginia)
  • Elizabeth Wilhelmina "Willie" Siegfried (married Jan. 4, 1858, Albemarle County, Virginia)
  • Ann "Nancy" W. Pollard (married Nov. 30, 1868, Fluvanna County, Virginia)[1]
  • Thomas Jefferson, Jr.'s first wife, Polly Lewis, was his first cousin. Their marriage record, dated October 3, 1808, documents that she is the daughter of Charles L. Lewis and that he is the son of Randolph Jefferson. Shadrack S. Lively, stated that Thomas Jefferson, Jr. was "upwards of 21," placing his birth prior to 1787. [2]
  • According to the Fluvanna County, Virginia death record for Thomas Jefferson, his cause of death was "old age." His parents are given as R and Nancy Jefferson. [3]
