Biography

Joseph Jefferson was born August 11, 1856, and baptised on August 17, 1856 in Bury, Lancashire, England.[1] He was the son of George Jefferson and Anne Cook.

In 1861 Joseph (age about 4) was living at 2 Third Street, Elton, Bury, Lancashire, England. Note: son, 4, scholar[2]

In 1871 Joseph (age about 14) was living at 34 Warth Fold, Radcliffe, Lancashire, England. son, 15, spinner

In 1881 Joseph (age about 24) was living at 123 Croston Road, Elton, Lancashire, England. head, 25, married, cotton stripper.[3]

In 1891 Joseph (age about 34) was living at 84 Bolton Road, Elton, Bury, Lancashire, England. head, 34, married, labourer and grocer.[4]

In 1901 Joseph (age about 44) was living at 84 Bolton Road, Elton, Bury, Lancashire, England. 44, marr, barman or waiter at public house.[5]

In 1911, Joseph (age about 54) was living with wife Alice, and son's, Walter-19, and willian-15, in Elton, Lancashire, England, where he was a Scutcher Minder in a Cotton Waste Mill.[6]

He passed away on December 4, 1912 in Bury, Lancashire, England.[7]
