Martha Jefferson was born in 1681. She is the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Sr. and Mary Martha Branch.[citation needed]

8 May 1718: Martha (Jefferson) Wynne (Winn) signed deeds with her husband, Robert Wynne (Winn) of Surry County, selling two tracts of land in Prince George County (shows wife's name as "Martha" in 1718 as well as his residence in Surry County, Virginia--Virginia Wills & Deeds 1713-28, pp 222, 224.).

She passed away on 19 January 1752 in Surry County, Virginia.[1] Her husband Major Robert Wynne certified her death.

A merge has been proposed with a profile with the same first name, last name at birth, and same birth and death dates and places. Appears to be either the same person or conflated.

Should we: 1) Detach the husband Robert Bulter, remove the married name Bulter, and complete the merge. 2) Mark this person as Uncertain Existence, develop case this person did not exist, and then mark as Disproven Existence? [if this marriage is frequently repeated in genealogies and we want to document it is disprove]

Jefferson-956 and Jefferson-641 appear to represent the same person because: they share the exact same vital statistics.

looking for a marriage date - Robert Wynne names wife Mary in his 1754 will. A profile for Anne Bolling is attached as his wife, with a 1708 marriage date, and Anne's profile says she died in 1750. Martha's brother named her Martha Winn in his 1725/1731 will (date written/date proved). So Anne could not have both married Robert in 1708 and died in 1750.

looking for the marriage date to try to figure out who the mother of

  • Angelica (Wynne) Raines is - she's named in her father's will & her profile says she was born in 1716.
  • Anne (Wynne) Butler (see Wynne-1009 and Wynne-539 - both born 1720, both d. before Robert's 1754 will; one dau. of Martha Jefferson... by THOMAS Wynne & one of Ann Bolling [no father named]).

father Thomas must be in error, since Robert's 1754 will names Mary Butler his granddaughter... I've detached the profile for him (Wynne-1010) from Anne's.

Added "Needs Biography" maintenance category because the profile just has a sticker under the Biography heading.
