John was born in 1793. He passed away in 1869.

Birth and Baptism

John Isaac Jeffery was born 6 November 1793 and baptised 1 December 1793 in Saint Mary, St Marylebone Rd, St Marylebone, London, England. His parents were John and Elizabeth Jeffery[1]

Marriage and Children

John Isaac Jeffery (bachelor) married Ann Harris (spinster) 3 May 1815 in St Dunstan in the West, London, England[2] John and Ann had the following children together:

  • John Isaac Jeffery (1816) Shoreditch (died 1817)
  • Mildred Elizabeth Jeffery (1820)
  • William Pettis (1824) Shoreditch
  • Ann Pettit Jeffery (1829) Shoreditch
  • Edwin Reid Jeffery (1833)

In 1841 John was living with his wife Ann and three children at 22 Bowling Green Street, St John Hackney, Middlesex. [3]

Ann Jeffery died in 1843 in Hackney, London.

Second Marriage and children

John Isaac Jeffery, a grocer and widower of full age living on Crown Street, married Ann Scrivener Wilcox, spinster of full age, 4 February 1845 in Saint Anne, Soho, Westminster, London, England. John Isaac's father was a labourer also named John Isaac. Ann's father was Henry Wilcox a shoe maker. The witnesses were William Dowding and Ann Petitt Jeffery. [4][5][6]. They had the following children together:

  • Francis Susannah Jefferys (1846)
  • John Isaac Jefferys (1848)
  • Henry George Jefferys (1857)

In 1851 John Isaac was living on Bowling Green Street, Hackney with his new wife Ann 'Serinner' and two children. John was working as a Chandler[7] In 1861 John Isaac was working as a Chandler and living in Tower Hamlets with his wife (a shoebinder), his daughter Ann Pettit (from his first marriage) and three younger children [8]

Death

John Isaac Jeffery died aged 79 and was buried 11th October 1869 in Hackney, Middlesex, England. His abode was Stoke Newington Common[9]
