William's date of birth is listed as Dec. 4, 1891 in the 1901 Canada Census.
William N.'s son, William M. Jeffrey, recalled his dad packaging eggs and placing them on the train at St. Pauls to send to his grandparents (William & Fannie) in Toronto. The eggs were sold and his dad returned to the farm with money and newspapers in the egg box. Sometimes there would be clothes for him and his siblings from the Sheppard family.
The farm was in the Gore of Downie Township, Perth County, Ontario.
