Basic information about Duncan was supplied by descendants.
The death occurred at the home of his father, A. J. Jeffrey. Duncan had been in ill health for the last year of his life and came home from his ranch in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan to see if the change would be of benefit to him. His wife and son survived him. He was a member of Knox Church.
It seems likely that Duncan had only recently moved to Saskatchewan from Downie Township in Ontario. In 1901 Duncan was farming in Downie Township, Ontario with his wife Jessie M. and son Donald. Tom Loghrin, who lived in Downie, wrote in his diary on Mar. 16, 1903, "...went to Dunk Jeffrey's sale in afternoon; bought roller". In 1906 the family lived near Bredenbury, Saskatchewan. Duncan owned 3 horses, 1 milkcow and one beef animal.
