Biography

David was born about 1742. David Jeffery ... He passed away about 1803. [1]

JAMPHRA: was one of the steps from Goraidh(Gorrie in English) to Geffrai to Joffray to the modern Jeffrey. . In the origins of the Jeffrey name, Japhra was one of the steps from Goraidh(Gorrie in English) to Geffrai to Joffray to the modern Jeffrey. In the paper I wrote on the Family Jeffrey there is no reference whatsoever to that name from 835 to present day. The use of the name in that fashion existed for about 150yrs. It could only arose by a mistake, by a census taker or registrar, as one of the variations was Ja-phra and only by inserting an "m" where the dash is, could you arrive at the name Jamphra. It is quite funny that about 95% of the Jamphra names are located in Stevenston Ayrshire. I could only find about 4 located elsewhere. Recd Kiltie 2002

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with David by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with David:
