She had walked to the Missouri River half a block from her home and consumed a bottle of sleeping pills before entering the water[5]. The Coroner determined her death to be a suicide[4]. She was laid to rest on 20 March 1959 at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, St. Charles County, Missouri[6].
