Joseph Jeffries/Jeffreys was born about 1733.
On 24 Oct 1754 in Stafford County, Virginia,[1] Joseph Jeffries married Margaret Smith.
On 22 Aug 1755 in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia, British Colonial America,[2] Margaret Jeffries, wife of Joseph Jeffries, gave birth to a daughter, Sarah Jeffries.
In 1782,[3] Joseph Jeffries was living in Northumberland County, Virginia.
On 7 Sep 1795 in Fauquier County, Virginia,[4] Peggy Jeffries, daughter of Joseph Jeffries, married John Maddux. The significance of this event is that it is consistent with the listing in Joseph Jeffreys' will[5] of Peggy Maddux as Joseph's daughter.
On 24 Sep 1807 in Fauquier County, Virginia,[5] Joseph Jeffreys signed his Last Will and Testament. The will was proved in Fauquier County Court on 28 Dec 1807; and hence, Joseph died between 24 Sep - 28 Dec 1807.

In the name of God Amen. I Joseph Jeffreys of Fauquier County being sick & weak of body but of Sound & Disposing mind do make and Ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner and form. Following that is to say first I commend my Soul to god its Creator in all humble hope of its future happenings through the only Merits of our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to the Ground to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter Named and as to Worldly Estate which God has been pleased to bless us with I give & bequeath as followeth
Imprimis (?) I give to my beloved Wife Margaret Jeffreys all my estate both real & personal during her natural Life and after her death My Executors hereafter named is to settle land and other property at public sale to the highest bidder and the money arising from the sale after my Just Debts are paid to be equally divided among all my sons and daughters hereafter named to wit Joseph Jeffreys George Jeffreys Daniel Jeffreys Thomas Jeffreys Mary Kemper Sarah Martin Lydia Smith Lucy Gibson Peggy Maddux & Aggatha Sanders Children but she is to have the use of it as long as she lives & my Executors will pay her the Interest yearly & if she becomes a widow pay her the whole Legacy of if they think it to be for her Interest they may pay it to her at anytime.
My sons Henry Jeffreys & William Jeffries have had land in Kentucky that I paid Two Hundred & Sixty pounds for therefore they are to be charged half of each and brought in the whole amount & take an equal share. all that I have let my son Enoch Jeffreys have heretofore I give him & half a share with his brothers & sisters. Lastly I nominate & appoint my sons Joseph Jeffreys & Enoch Jeffreys executors of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all others by me heretofore made in testimony. Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this 24th September 1807

This will was proved by the oaths of John Goldsmith Joseph Blackwell and William Hale witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded And on the motion of Enoch Jeffries and Joseph Jeffries the executors therein, _____ who made oath and together with Walter A. Smith and Joseph Blackwell therein Securities entered into and Acknowledged bond in the penalty of Twelve Thousand Dollars conditioned as the law directs certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
