Biography

Mary was born in 1829 in Edgcott (but see Research Notes, seems more likely she was born in Chackmore).

She married Henry Sirett in 1859 in London.

Research Notes

There may have been three Sirett families in north Buckinghamshire having children at this time. In one case the maiden name appears to be Everett from the birth records of their children e.g. Clara in 1865: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=BMD%2FB%2F1865%2F3%2FAZ%2F001193%2F128

In another case the mothers maiden name is Jeffs e.g. Sophia in 1864: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=BMD%2FB%2F1864%2F1%2FAZ%2F001178%2F034

And Sophia can be found in the 1871 census with Henry and Mary, confirming that Mary's maiden name was Jeffs.

There is a baptism in 1829 in Edgcott that would fit: 18th October 1829, Edgcott, Parish Register: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=R_962859334.

However there is also a burial record for this person from 1837: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBPRS%2FCOA%2FBUR%2F0039365

Alternatively there is a baptism in Radclive in 1830: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBPRS%2FBUCKINGHAMSHIRE%2FBAP%2F001688414. Parents Sarah and James.

However the 1841 Census for Radclive has a Mary Jeffs, living with Thomas and Ann and presumably their daughter. Or had her parents died and she was living with an ant and uncle?

There is an 1851 census return for Adstock which has a Mary Jeffs working as a housemaid for the Rector, Adam Baynes: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBC%2F1851%2F0007095475. This gives a year of birth as 1828, and place as Chackmore. Chackmore is a hamlet about half a mile from Radclive. This fits with the 1861 census when she has married Henry, as that also gives her place of birth as Chackmore.

Adstock is about 5 miles to the south east of both of them.

No death or burial record found in Adstock, nor in Bilston.
