Mrs. Leachman Victim of Death-Mrs. Catherine Leachman Dies near Banner April 22 Funeral At Lantrip.-
Mrs. Sara Emma Catherine Leachman, age 87, widow of the lamented W.L.Leachman, died at her home at Banner on Friday afternoon, April 22. Funeral services, conducted by Rev.J.S. Dorroh, assisted by Rev.Floyd Brasher, were held from the Lantrip Baptist Chuch on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, followed by interment in the Stewart cemetery. Pryor Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements and the following grandsons served as pallbearers: Van Howell, Roe Leachman, Kenneth Cain, Loy Leachman, Louis Cain, Charley Cain, Joe Leachman, Jr., and Knox Leachman.
Mrs. Leachman was an outstanding woman. At her husband's death she was left with several small children, whom she reared and educated and maintained a good home for. Throughout her life she was generous, friendly, a good neighor and an affectionate mother. She was also a good buisness woman who knew how to operate her farm and make it pay.
She was a member of the Baptist Church and was loyal to the church and its teachings. She was also interested in better roads, better schools and the general progress of the county.
Mrs. Leachman is survived by the following sons and daughters; John Leachman, of Banner; Mrs. Leslie Chilcoat, of Serepta; Joe Leachman, of Oxford; Mrs. Ethel Cain, of Banner; Mrs. Oma Cain, of Banner; Ernie Leachman, of Greenville, and Mrs. Minnie Howel, of Banner.
Burial: Stewart Cemetery; Calhoun County, Mississippi, USA.
Catherine was born in 1862. She passed away about 1929.
