Biography

1776 Project
Sergeant Dennis Jenkins served with Col. Benedict Arnold's Regiment, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Dennis Jenkins was born in Kittery, York County, Maine, May 8, 1742, the son of Thomas Jenkins and Mary Hamilton Jenkins.[1][2][3]

He was married - date and location unknown - to Anna (Unknown).[4]

Dennis was a ships carpenter. He purchased 5 acres in Pittston, Kennebec County in August, 1768 for the expressed purpose of building ships there. These plans never materialized . and he sold the land in 1778 and moved on.[5] [6]

He appears in various locations in Maine in the 1810, 1820 and 1830 Census reports. [7][8][9]

Dennis died in Monroe, Waldo County, Maine, January 5, 1838 [4]
