Biography

Percy Vance Jenkins was born August 27, 1880, in Bedford County, Tennessee, USA. His parents were John Witson Jenkins and Sarah Elizabeth Biddle. [1][2]

In the 1900 US Census, Percy is living with his father, and six siblings---William O, Mamie J, Kittie B, Joe D, Ruth, Annie---and his father's niece, Mary L Jenkins. At that time, they are living in District 24 of Bedford County, Tennessee, USA. [3]

In 1905, Percy married Leila Caroline Prater. [4]

He registers for the WWI draft on September 12, 1918, while living in Murfreesboro, Rutherford, Tennessee, USA. He is of medium height and build, with black hair and brown eyes. He is 38 years old. [5]

Percy died in Rutherford County Hospital, Age 66. Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, August 29, 1946. [1][2][8]

Wife; Lela Prater Jenkins. Daughter; Mrs. Herbert Taylor. Son; John Jenkins all of Murfreesboro. 4 sisters; Mrs. John E. Moore, Mrs. Howard Shofner both of Shelbyville, Mrs. Paul Buntzler of Puebla New Mexico and Miss Ruth Jenkins of Hanford, Calif. 2 brothers; W. O. Jenkis of Puebla and Joe Jenkins of Hanford Calif.
