DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
Leaving these notes due to the 2 1/2 year lingering unmerged match to clarify this Thomas Jenkinson, if he existed, was not living in Middlesex in 1688. I find no record of him there before or after...
It appears this Dorothy (unknown) who's will was dated 30 June 1688, proved Sept 3 1688 at Middlesex has been mistaken as mother of Ann & Mary Jankerson but she was surely otherwise related by the following 3 Court orders in Middlesex County...
3 Sep 1688. (1) Probate of the last will & Testament of Mrs. Dorothy Fisher, decd., is granted Mary and Ann Jenkerson. (2) Mr. Christopher Fisher is lately dead and made no will, petitioner Richard Fisher, being his brother's son, asks that he be granted administration of the estate. (3) Ordered that ye sheriff doe summons Rich'd Willis, Rob't Prise, Rand'l Seager & John Nash to meet at his house to inventory the estate of Christopher Fisher, dec'd. Middlesex Order Book 2 (1680-1694), p. 360 & 361. FHL Film # 008356980, image 446/632. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSYD-25YM?i=445&cat=397628
..but here is her will naming all involved parties (her nieces & nephew?) as "cuzens, Ann & Mary Jancerson and Richard Fisher" and her son as Thomas Fisher.
Will of Dorothy Fisher witnessed by John Nash, Rich'd Willis & one other. Middlesex Wills 1675-1798 Parts 1 & 2, p. 55. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89P6-Y3C5?i=64&cat=1120145
Per the Parish Register of Christ Church.. "Christopher ffisher of Ireland departed this Life ye __ June was buried 30th June 1688"...the day his wife Dorothy made her will.
This error probably occurred because 3 March 1689 Mary Jankerson requested her brother-in law Claud Vallott become her guardian, right after the death of Christopher & Dorothy Fisher, and/or also because the following suit (Claud Vallot vs. Richard Fisher) is mis-transcribed in "Middlesex Wills & Inventories by William Lindsay Hopkins, 1989" implying the girls were named as Fisher's, when they clearly were named as Jankerson.
...and per the Christ Church Parish register the subject Mary Jankerson (or Jenkinson) was "of Cumberland England" when married to John Nash 12 April 1698.
Jenkinson-134 and Jenkinson-46 are not ready to be merged because: Death dates are way off. We need to determine which is correct before a merge can complete.
