Hi,

I'm checking profiles for completeness of the birth and death locations. Many of your managed profiles have abbreviated state names, such as MA instead of Massachusetts. I've corrected some, but as very many of yours have these issues, I decided to leave the rest for you and to go on to others.

Hi,

I sent you a check-in message several days ago about the 1776 Project to ask you about your past and continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project?

If I don’t hear from you in a week or so, I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things, but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Best wishes,

Betty -- 1776 Project Leader

Thank you Betty. At this time I do not have the time required to participate in this. Hope to be able in the future.

Thank you for the response, Jean. We understand that every member's available time changes from year to year. If you would like to rejoin the project, please follow the directions at the project page.

Best Regards,

Betty

Hi Jean,

It's time for a 1776 Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know if you want to continue as a member of the project. We'd like to know:

  • If you are on the right team or if you'd like to make a change. It's a requirement that every 1776 Project member is a part of one of the project's teams, so if you're not assigned to a team, let us know which team you'd like to join.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what changes you'd like to see us make?

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the 1776 Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back.

Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Jean,

Thank you for contributing to the January 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi, Jean

The Ambassadors project has been reorganizing and is looking for those who have a membership at a genealogical society, to help in spreading the word about WikiTree.

We're working on ways to improve how WikiTree connects and interacts with genealogical and local history societies. This is the kind of thing we want to do:

  • Liaise with societies: set up your local society with a free-space page and some WikiTree materials as part of a package.
  • Use social media to promote what societies are offering on WikiTree.
  • Encourage bloggers to blog about societies and the resources available to them on WikiTree.

Are you interested in participating in some way? Do you have some ideas to share?

For Rebecca Tippens - all I have is there.. and with the DNA link I know it's the right track - but wasn't sure of who her father was so left it as unknown and my best link. Geneaolgy is on hold for me right now with other life stuff.. hoping when I get back to it that there will be a few more dna matches.. it is possible William is her father.. or one of his brothers..

Based on the fact that permission was given for her to marry, we don't think that tippens was a married name for her and Benjamin her 2nd husband.

With regard to Wiggins-296, please feel free to update the profile with your sources.

Thanks for your note about the orphaned profiles for the early English Canby family, Jean. If the profiles don't already have sources identifying them as Quakers, it is better that they not be managed by the project.

I would recommend adding the Unsourced code with the location descriptor such as { {Unsourced|England} } (be sure to take the spaces out from between the curly brackets). The England Project has some great resources for early England records and are working hard to make sure all profiles from England have sources.

Hope this helps,

Debi

Jean, I am very pleased to see your research on Pearson-381 and Peirson-2. Please insert your information and sources in the data and text sections of the two profiles. Unfortunately, we shouldn't merge those profiles until the conflicting parents are resolved. (What a mess!)

Jean, I am so appreciative of you —and all the Wikitree Leadership, Programmers and Volunteer Community— for all the dedication, integrity and principled collaboration making it what it is and keeping it free, open, unbiased and as accurate, inclusive and accessible to all as it can be.
Jean, thank you for for your 19 Dec 2017 edit of the FindAGrave.com info at Wikitree.com/wiki/Kosar-3. The Czech origin and family history of the Kosar family is intricately entertwined with that of my family, the Balauns, for many generations, extending across the US and back to their common origin in historic Czech lands. The transitioning of FindAGrave.com has been causing me a lot of work and worry. Apparently, Fannie Kosar Scheffel’s old original page on the FindAGrave site was removed and replaced on the new site without transferring photos or bio info or preserving family links. I wonder if you can help me understand what is happening with FindAGrave and why. Thanks.
HI,

just a word (late) to congratulate you on the contributions you made during the month of November. Whatever the quantity, they are all important.

Your work is appreciated.

Thanks

Guy Constantineau
