74 THOMAS JENKS (John* William* Joseph,1 Joseph1) was born July 30, 1737 and died Oct. 10, 1811.

He married PATIENCE SMITH, daughter of Jacob and Dinah Smith, who died May 6, 1809.

The whole family was very tall and Thomas boasted of "sixty feet of daughters".

In his will, dated June 7,1809,^[1] he names the family given and also his father John.

He gave his sons Rufus the lands his father had given him, reserving the family burial ground where his daughter Patience Thornton was buried.

viii. Polly, m. Jonah Harris, Oct. 3, 1785.
