Biography

Henry Jenner Is Pneumonia Victim Henry Jenner, aged Hand county resident, passed away Wednesday night at his home. Death was caused from pneumonia, which developed after an attack of influenza. No funeral arrangements had been made at this time, pending word from relatives at distant points. The Miller Press, Miller, Hand, South Dakota Thursday, November 15, 1945, p1 c2

Monday Services For Henry Jenner Funeral services for Henry Jenner were held Monday afternoon from the Presbyterian church in Miller. Services were in charge of Rev. Joseph Andrews. Henry Jenner, son of Christian and Elizabeth Jenner, was born in South Russia December 12, 1866, and passed away November 15, 1945 at 1:30 a.m. He came to America with his parents in 1873 and settled near Scotland, S.D. He was married to Rosine Pietz February 15, 1889 and to this union eleven children were born, one son, August, passing away in 1919. His wife passed away in May, 1936. He had been ailing for nearly two years and the past week, developed congested pneumonia and passed away very suddenly. He leaves to mourn his loss, five sons, Robert, Edwin and Arthur of St. Lawrence, Julius of Huron, Theodore of San Diego, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Theodore Goehring, Delmont, S.D.; Mrs. Ben Artz, Valencia Penn.; Mrs. Gus Goehring, Delmont, S.D.; Mrs. Oluf Peterson, Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. Tom Marshall, Valencia, Penn.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Melhoff, Menno, S.D.; Mrs. Michal Schnable, Hosmer, S.D.; three brothers, Jacob and Fred Jenner, Scotland, SD.; Carl Lodi, Calif.; twenty-four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
